New Nano Center Associate Directors

Drs. Corinne Lengsfeld, Barry Zink and Siavash Pourkamali have finished their two years of service as Associate Directors of the Center. Thank you for your great service and we continue to look forward to your active participation.

Three new Associate Directors representing Physics (Dr. Sean Shaheen), Electrical (Dr. Mohammad Matin) and Mechanical (Dr. Yun-Bo Yi) were elected. Also, Dr. Matthew Rutherford from Computer Science has join the Center and become an Associate Director representing Computer Science. Welcome Matt!

New Graduate Program in Nanoscale Science and Engineering Beginning Fall 2009

The University of Denver is now offering both MS (thesis and non-thesis) and PhD programs in Nanoscale Science and Engineering beginning the Fall quarter 2009. These are interdisciplinary degree programs sharing faculty and other resources with existing graduate programs in Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) and the School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS). All NSM and SECS graduate programs, particularly at the PhD level, focus on the research component.

New 3-year NSF Grant for Dr. Zink

Dr. Barry Zink from the Department of Physics and Astronomy has received a MAJOR grant from the National Science Foundation for "CAREER: Electrons, Phonons, and Magnons in Nanostructures and Novel Materials," in the amount of $550k -over 5 years. Congratulations Barry!
